Treffos Independent School serves a wide local catchment area and is also an approved Ministry of Defence (MOD) school. It is covered by the North Wales Day School Allowance (NWDSA), which supports the education of children of Service personnel based in North Wales who meet the eligibility criteria for Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA).

The North Wales Day School Allowance enables the children of Service personnel stationed in North Wales to attend an independent day school as an alternative to a state day school operating a Welsh teaching policy.
