Communication with Parents

Each term begins with a Parent Curriculum Meeting for each class. During this session, teachers outline the topics and key areas of the curriculum to be covered throughout the term. Any planned educational visits, special visitors, or other relevant arrangements are also shared. Teachers additionally explain how parents can best support their child’s learning at home.

Contact details for each child’s class teacher are provided to parents, and there is always an opportunity to ask questions about the term ahead.

We are committed to keeping parents fully informed about school life and forthcoming events through weekly bulletins, regular emails, Seesaw updates, and letters from class teachers and the joint Headteachers.

Open Door Policy

Our approach is founded on an open-door policy that encourages clear and consistent communication between home and school. At the start of each school day, teachers are available should parents wish to share any concerns or important information.

Likewise, at the end of the school day, staff are available at collection time to discuss any matters and address concerns promptly wherever possible.

Where a more private discussion is required, parents are welcome to arrange an appointment with the class teacher at a mutually convenient time. These meetings are held in a private setting to ensure confidentiality and to allow sufficient time for a thorough and supportive discussion.

Parent Consultation Evenings

Formal parent consultation evenings are held twice a year, during the Autumn and Spring terms. These meetings can be conducted either in person or via Zoom, depending on parental preference.

In addition, parents receive a written report on their child’s progress at the end of the Summer Term.
